Floating Land

From 27 August - 18 October 2015, enjoy Floating Land in Noosa region.

Floating Land: Reflect & Re-imagine is an international event that puts a spotlight on art and the environment, with outdoor art installations, an exhibition, forum, workshops, presentations and activities around the Noosa region. Don’t miss this exciting event!

Now in its 8th iteration, Floating Land will provide an opportunity to pause and reconnect with the grassroots beginnings of this event. Floating Land expresses the intangible connection between art, the environment and the local community. The event will celebrate artworks, artists and locations involved in previous Floating Land events.

The 2015 program will include:
An exhibition of artworks in the environment, featuring local artists from previous Floating Land iterations and a new 2015 Floating Land artist;
A seven-week retrospective exhibition at Noosa Regional Gallery showcasing images from previous Floating Land events and works created as part of a 2015 artist-in-residence program at local schools;
'Re-imagine’ Forum at The J, exploring the arts in the environment and examining ‘where to next for Floating Land’;
Workshops, presentations and activities.
Artists who have been commissioned by Noosa Council to produce installations at the Boreen Point and Tewantin foreshores are:
Kari and Ross Annels – Reflective Temple
Rene Bahloo – Inside On The Outside
Leah Barclay – Yaman Wira
Lyndon Davis – Shell Midden Stories
Kris Martin – Earth Being
Simon McVerry – Beneath The Surface
Elizabeth Poole – Weyba Revisited
Lisa Brummel – Do Not Disturb
Julie Wall – Omega Voyage
